The natural yellow sea sponge is renewable and bio-degradable. Natural sea sponges have enzymes that inhibit the growth of mold, mildew and bacteria. They create a luxurious lather and last longer than synthetic sponges. If cared for properly, they can last for years. When compared to a synthetic sponge made of cellulose, chemicals and dye, the natural sea sponge is superior.

How to care for a Natural Sea Sponge
Rinse under running water to remove any residual sea debris before first use. Between uses, rinse in clean water, squeeze out excess water and allow to dry. Sea sponges naturally inhibit bacteria growth but don't prevent it. You will want to occasionally disinfect your sponge by soaking it in a one of these solutions
1/4 c hydrogen peroxide and 1 c water
1 tbs apple cider vinegar and 1 c water
or
1 tbs sodium bicarbonate and 1 c water
1 tsp colloidal silver and 1 c water
Never soak your natural sea sponge in bleach, this will cause it to fall apart. Never put into the microwave, a clothes dryer or boiling water, this will cause your sea sponge to get hard.
If you follow these guidelines, your natural sea sponge will last for years.
